I run workshops in making sound, and listening. I have made workshops for Sound Designers in training, and other Designers with little or no technical knowledge. I like to make events where I present knowledge and methods, but the participants make the work and control how the audience listens to it.
Binaural workshops LSBU
I led workshops with LSBU students to show them the KU 100 binaural head, and facilitated their creation of binaural sound design for a short story that they had been working on.
CSSD stage lx costume actors
At the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, design students from stage and lighting worked with acting students to quickly create sound in response to stimulus words. The group performing the sound instructed how the audience should listen.

In this workshop, the participants made short pieces of sound in response to text. The different groups were set the challenge to make sound entirely acoustically, some with a single microphone and speaker, others with editing software and a silent disco headphone kit, others with editing software through loudspeakers. The participants had to decide where loudspeakers and audience should be situated.
